What is a 'building owner'?
We're required to carry out our compliance checks on the owner of a building. What we're interested in is the owner as shown at HM Land Registry - that could be a single person, a couple, a company or even a trust or offshore company.
Can you support corporate or trust owners?
Yes, absolutely. There is a little more work for us to do in the background, but this doesn't change anything about the way we operate - and there is still no charge for the accounts.
Which individuals need to provide KYC information?
We need KYC (know-your-client) information from every individual person who is a building owner, and every individual person who is a director or >25% shareholder of a corporate building owner.
If your building belongs to a trust, we will likely require information about the settlor, the trustee(s) and the beneficiary/beneficiaries as well.
